Ukrainian Freedom Supply: US Musicians Slavalachia Buy Boots, Gloves for Ukrainian Soldiers
Sept. 4, 2022.
Thanks to the fundraising work of Slavalachia, an Ohio-based folk music alliance of Ukrainians, Belarusians, and Americans, Ukrainian Freedom News was able to deliver Dnipro, Ukraine-made combat boots and tactical gloves to soldiers fighting in the gruelling lines of Donetsk.
More than six months in, such support is still needed. And it's a powerful but simple way for people around the world to stand with those at the vanguard of liberty and tyranny, good and evil.
In June, members of Slavalachia bravely visited Ukraine and traveled to the city of Nikopol, within sight of the Russian invaders across the river. They brought music and joy to the people of that city, which now, these past weeks, is being destroyed day by day by the Russian invaders. The money they raised will keep Ukrainian soldiers' feet protected--and keep them moving where they need to go to win.

Relatives of captured defenders of Mariupol, from whom there is no news for five months, ask the world for help
Relatives of the defenders of Mariupol are asking the government and the world to help free the heroes.
Two hundred people in the center of Kropyvnytskyi staged an action to remind about the fate of the defenders who defended Mariupol, who were ordered to leave the Azovstal bunkers and were captured by the Rashists, TSN reports.
About two hundred people with Ukrainian flags, symbols of the "Azov" regiment and 36 brigades of marines gathered on the central square of Kropyvnytskyi. Among them are the relatives of the captured defenders of Mariupol.
"We came here for our son Luchko Yevhen, who has been in captivity for 5 months, was captured in Mariupol while leaving the Illich factory. Now it is not known where he is," said the prisoner's father.
For almost half a year, relatives and friends have not had any information about the soldiers. They do not know where and under what conditions the occupiers are keeping prisoners.
Many participants of the action went through the hell of Mariupol themselves: they lost their homes, they left the city under fire. Maria found refuge in Kropyvnytskyi, where she gave birth to a son, Nazarii, but the baby's father does not know about it. The connection with Vyacheslav Kuzmenko, a soldier of the 109th Terrodefense Brigade, disappeared back in March.
Drawing the world's attention to the fate of the heroic defenders of Mariupol is the main goal of the action, says the mother of the captured soldier of the "Azov" regiment. "For everyone to see, for the whole world to see what they are. They exist. These are guys of steel and every mother wants them back home and I want my baby home, I want to hug him too. Every mother, every woman, every father and we ask the whole society to help us return our children," the woman asks.
"So that the second Olenivka does not happen again, so that they are not mocked, so that they are not tortured. I also have a growing son and I worry about his future, I really want this war to end and for all our heroes to return home alive," says Tetyana Naumenko.
