Ukrainian Freedom News
Joe Lindsley and Anton Hutyriak of Ukrainian Freedom News are on a cross-country journey through Ukraine to gather and share stories of Ukrainian life in war. They arrived in Kharkiv, which before the war was Ukraine's second largest city, a sophisticated, creative, entrepreneurial, fast-moving city of parks, cafés, and broad boulevards. Amid constant sounds of shelling and some close calls with missile strikes, they traveled to Saltivka district of north Kharkiv.
Here's a preview of what they saw and heard. Russia has shelled Kharkiv every day since February 24. In January, before the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Joe visited Kharkiv. Here he shares the sad feeling he's got upon returning to see the destruction.
