My apologies for not sending this newsletter lately. We’ve been focused buying vehicles and drones for front-line soldiers, showing around foreign reporters throughout Ukraine, and on our daily radio reports. Last night, the Russians briefly bombarded Kharkiv.
War Day 507: Crimean Bridge, Bombs on Kharkiv, and the Painstaking Process of De-Mining
UNDISCLOSED LOCATION— From a de-mining training ground, aka polygon, I share what I learned about the painstaking process of riding fields, forests, villages, and infrastructure of Russian minds. It's brutal work.
War Day 506: “Joseph Lindsley’s Reports Are So Informative They Should Be Shared Nationwide”
KHARKIV, 30 MILES FROM RUSSIA— Today, our audience shared many comments about yesterday's report about Biden, Burisma, and Moscow. And a message from a Ukrainian: "Thank you for the freedom feelings."
War Day 505: When Can We Say the Truth About Burisma?
KHARKIV, 30 MILES FROM RUSSIA— The UK's defence secretary, a keen supporter of Ukraine, says it's very difficult to keep members of the US Congress engaged on Ukraine. And Congress proves this, with an absurd hearing this week that totally missed one simple and key fact: Hunter Biden made money not from Ukraine but from Russia. Oh, and China is involved too. In the middle are the fierce, free people of Ukraine currently under threat because they refuse to be governed or controlled by corrupt elites, from anywhere.
Air-Anxiety / Air-Raid Thoughts: "Reality reminds me of a film that I have not seen."
BY JOE LINDSLEY
KHARKIV—During the Russian missile attacks a few hours ago, a friend in this city which has seen so much shit, writes: “You ok? “ I said, “yes. Are y’all in some kind of shelter?” “No mate," says @McSimba. "I haven’t visited shelters for a year already ) no point in that. We’re watching a movie ))”
As for me, I was dreading that sound, that awful thud, all day today. It had just been too long without attack. And today was too beautiful and peaceful. I felt something wicked this way comes. Last night my dreams were full of explosions set in various places where I have been in my life, outside of Ukraine.
Tonight, the first missile woke me from a dream unremembered because the waking nightmare was more memorable. Only then did the air-raid alarm sound. Earlier today I ran in the exquisite blue sky 70-degree weather through a ruined neighborhood. It was windy and glass blew about as I past the former Old Hemingway pub — I looked down into the ruins of a place where in early February 2022 I drank Guinness with friends: all a heap of rubble now.
But I saw an image of Hemingway, saying "Hem Lives": the bar is resurrected at a new location. My friend Gamlet the great Ukrainian graffiti artist has a wartime mural here in Kharkiv that says: "Reality reminds me of a film that I have not seen."
