Plus: Why Do Freedom-Loving Americans Spread Lies About Ukraine?
As the maniac in the Kremlin lobs bombs at Ukraine and threats at Europe, as Beijing pretends it wants peace while smudging out Hong Kong and threatening Taiwan, social-media America screams and heaves about Ukraine like a decadent schizophrenic asthmatic in a New Orleans brothel during a category 5 hurricane.

from Joe Lindsley’s daily Ukraine report on Chicago's WGN Radio with Bob Sirott
by JOE LINDSLEY
KHARKIV—We start with a music video from Ukraine's chief rabbi as he sings while walking the streets of his beloved Kyiv. And then we turn to a difficult topic:What is happening in Bakhmut? It's brutal and fierce, but Ukrainians hold as Moscow desperately tries to get some win, somewhere.
You can watch and listen above.
And you watch the Rabbi’s full music video, with scenes of resilient war-time Kyiv, here:
DAILY WAR MUSIC:
VIDEO: News Weapons from USA in Action in Ukraine
For at least a week, word on the street in eastern Ukraine says that many of the new weapons from the West, including from the United States, have recently already quietly arrived in Ukraine. The only fanfare is actual battlefield use. This video below seems to show Ukrainians using joint direction attack munitions (JDAM), which convert unguided bombs into precision ones with, when equipped with wings, a range of 45 miles.
Russians Shoot Ukrainian POW While He Casually Smokes a Cigarette and Says, 'Slava Ukraiini"
The video was released by Russian occupiers, where you may see how they are shooting an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war. The Russians think that releasing such war-crime videos helps them by making the world afraid, but at least in Ukraine, it works to strengthen resolve of free people against tyranny.
As we all know, any prisoner of war is a subject to the protection of Geneva Conventions. But for Russians, there are no rules.
They killed this man, TIMOFEY SHADURA, because of the only one utterance “Glory to Ukraine, (“ Slava Ukraiini”), which you can hear from him on the video.

On the Donetsk side, the enemy fired intensively in the Ocheretyn community: at least 5 houses were damaged in Netailovo and Tonenke, in the morning there were air rocket strikes on Lastochkine and Orlivka, and artillery shelling on Krasnohorivka and Kamianka.
At night, the Russians shelled Karlivka with artillery, damaging the infrastructure.
In Avdiivka, chaotic shelling continued at night, and in the morning there were 2 massive artillery shells and an air rocket strike, hitting residential quarters. Mariinka, Krasnohorivka, Pobieda and Kostiantynivka came under fire in Mariinka community.

From Nuland to Nazis, Americans on the left and right scream conspiracy theories about Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukrainians and clear-eyed heroes from around the world actually face the fight for freedom.KHARKIV — As the maniac in the Kremlin lobs bombs at Ukraine and threats at Europe, as Beijing pretends it wants peace while smudging out Hong Kong and threatening Taiwan, social-media America screams and heaves about Ukraine like a decadent schizophrenic asthmatic in a New Orleans brothel during a category 5 hurricane.
And despite the strong words of President Joe Biden in Kyiv about the fight between good and evil, the weapons and tanks he promised roll into Ukraine as though they are powered by his slow-shuffling feet.
The mismatch between the global rhetoric and the Ukrainian reality makes me feel like I’m trapped in a Kafka nightmare. Here in Kharkiv, so close to Russia that often the rockets arrive before the air alarm can sound, I daily meet brave, clear-eyed souls—soldiers, medics, volunteers; Ukrainians, Americans, Brits, Poles, etc.—heroes who keep going in the awful reality of the war in which day by day many people we know lose lives, limbs, and livelihoods.Meanwhile, even friends of mine in America somehow don’t believe the reality of Ukrainian freedom and Russian aggression. Last week smart Americans texted me saying, “how come there’s no videos of the war, huh?” I looked on Twitter: Many were asking the same question, on a curious cue. Of course, this notion is ridiculous: Never before has there been a war with more video of the fighting. We believe the Spanish Civil War happened, even though Hemingway did not post about it on Instagram.

Apples of Gratitude, in Little Ukrainian Village Two Miles from Russia
Russians Shell Kozacha-Lopan Once Again. Here Are Scenes from Our Visit There Last Fall, Also Under Shelling
Here are videos from November 2022 of Ukrainian Freedom News and the Hero Society delivering support to the villagers of Kozacha-Lopan, two miles from the Russian border. In the first video, a grateful villager ran, amid shelling, to bring us the only gift she could give in return for grains and water: fresh apples from her garden.
In the second, you can see how steady the old women of the village are, after months of Russian occupation, and now after continued Russian shelling, as they stand calmly during nearby artillery strikes:
