War Day 576: Poland-Ukraine Dispute: What's Going On?
🇺🇦 500+ DAYS OF WAR REPORTING 🎙️ from Friday 22 September 2023
Join Joe Lindsley as he reports from Ukraine EVERY DAY since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. Tune in to Chicago's @wgnradio with Bob Sirott for the latest updates. 🔥 UNTIL VICTORY 🔥
🚀 Long-Range Weapons: Why the Reluctance? 🚀
The Biden administration's recent commitment to supply ATACMs ("Attack-ems") to Ukraine raises questions. Why does the US so grudgingly and slowly send such effective weaponry if indeed the goal is Ukrainian victory? And why now, only after the summer counteroffensive?
🇵🇱 Poland's Arms Standoff? 🤝
Headlines claim Poland halted arms shipments to Ukraine due to a grain import dispute. The truth? Poland has already given Ukraine most of its available weapons. With an upcoming election on October 15, political influence on rhetoric is undeniable. And adds to the complexity. Ukraine possesses just two dozen of these crucial launchers despite being on the front lines.
💰 The Price of Support 💪
Critics argue the US has spent too much on Ukraine. However, much of this "billions" is simply a valuation of old weapons sent. And Poland's $10 billion deal for 486 high mobility rocket launchers from the US showcases the marketing potential for the US and defense contractors. Not a bad return for simply giving Ukraine about 20 HIMARS. While commercial interests play their games, Ukrainians persevere in their fight.
🏫 Ukraine is like a giant university campus 🇺🇦
I had a strange realization the day of the latest attack on Kharkiv that Ukraine is a nation akin to a university campus with victory as its goal, not graduation. I explain in this episode.
War Day 575: Russia Hits Cities, Ukrainians Hit Crimea, and Questions Arise About US Support
CAN WE BE HONEST ABOUT US SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE?
KHARKIV—🚀 Russian Strikes Continue: Joseph describes a harrowing night of missile attacks, with a total of six S-300 missiles hitting Kharkiv city and many other strikes throughout Ukraine.
🛩️ Ukraine Strikes Back: Ukraine launched yet another attack on a Russian airfield located in the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia has illegally occupied since 2014.
💰 Clarifying US Support: Joseph also addressed criticism from our listeners regarding his previous comments on the financial support from the US to Ukraine. He emphasized that his remarks were not meant to be ungrateful but aimed at emphasizing the importance of transparency regarding the true extent of financial aid and the nature of support provided by the United States.
🌾 Ukraine-Poland Grain Dispute: Joseph delved into the ongoing dispute between Ukraine and Poland over Ukrainian grain exports. This dispute has economic implications and adds another layer of complexity to the region's challenges. But don't forget: Poland has an election soon, October 15, and that's is underlying this tension. Stay tuned for more updates on this evolving situation. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to stay informed about the latest news from around the world.
