KHARKIV, 30 miles from Russia: Arriving by morning train from Kyiv, I met with the city's Rotary Club as they discussed and debate in practical terms how to help the victory effort: from getting supplies to soldiers to caring for orphans and for children whose parents the war was driven into insanity.
Let’s talk about corruption
In January 2022, just before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Bill Gates said, without evidence, that Ukraine has the most corrupt government in the world. Does he know about Ukraine's 2014 Revolution of Dignity—and how for nine years the Ukrainian people have been taking control of their government from the corrupt elites? He also spoke of the vast natural including agricultural resources of Ukraine. Does someone want those resources?
Meanwhile, in other nations it seems people struggle mightily to take on corruption …
