I've been under shelling and missile attacks, I've had to share hellish stories, but my daily war report from yesterday—made in a comfortable Lviv café on a calm day—was the most difficult yet. Why?
We're swirling in madness and propaganda. The Americans who mock Ukraine love Israel. On the other hand, many Americans who love Ukraine kinda sympathize with Hamas.
Ukraine, which Russia wrongly calls a "nazi country," stands united with Israel. Here there are no pro-Hamas demonstrations seen in other parts of the world. And my Israeli friends, now facing a hell similar to what we've known here for nearly two years, support Ukraine.
The Moscow-stoked propaganda obscures this reality: Both Little Gaza and Vast Russia maniacally shout their desire that the world should submit to them. Russia uses nuclear threats to hold the world hostage, while Hamas hides behind Palestinian civilians.
Russian people permit Russian terror through silence and fear. Palestinian people permit Hamas terror through the same silence and fear. We've seen the same I think in the USA.
After 21 months of Russia’s full-scale war and having visited both Israel and Palestine, it's clear that these are battles of free people against mad ideological tyranny cloaked in Moscow Orthodoxy and Hamas Islam. Ukrainians and Israelis, of all religions, insist on living in freedom. This isn't about their governments but about free people who'd rather die than be enslaved—a resolve that might be shocking to us in the comfortable West.
By the way, here in Ukraine, we're still enduring hell, but with unwavering determination. It's crucial to note that Ukraine is making great progress in dismantling the Russian Black Sea Fleet. This must not be overlooked.
I hope my reporting does justice to the reality here and in the places I've been—and I welcome discussion.
