The Church of Stalin and the KGB: How Russian 'Religion' Promotes Tyranny
Why a January 7 'Christmas truce' is a farce
It’s Christmas Eve in Ukraine.
Patriarch Kirill, former KGB spy, has called for a 'Christmas truce,' when both Ukrainian Orthodox Christians and Ukrainian Greek Catholics celebrate Christmas, which starts January 7. But this is a farce.
He's trying to shift the narrative, trying to make the world forget Russia is the aggressor. A true Christian spirit would not be bombarding Ukrainian cities and would not be prohibiting freedom in Russia. Calling for a truce is only a way for Russia to buy time to renew its attacks on Ukraine. As the underdog fighting for its existence, Ukraine cannot entertain such notions.
Some influential Americans including Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard claim that Ukraine is rounding up and arresting priests, banning religion, etc.
No. Only after 10 months of war, is the Ukrainian government, at the behest of the under-siege Ukrainian people, moving to stop the spies who have been operating under the cloak of the Russian church, a which which, especially after the full-scale invasion of February 24, hardly any Ukrainians are part of.
The Russian church, since the days of Stalin, has been an arm of the totalitarian Kremlin. In 2018, with the blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Constantinople (Istanbul), Ukrainians began the process of freeing themselves from the yoke of the Russian church.
I explain this in my conversation Thursday 5 January with WGN Radio's Bob Sirott, part of our Ukraine report shared every weekday since February.

Thanks to our brave Polish colleague Witold Newelicz for facing fear and traveling to what he called the “live doorstep to hell.
The power of Ukrainian holiday rituals: How they celebrate Christmas
Religious and religious freedom thrive in Ukraine. Here’s a look at how Ukrainians, whether they are Orthodox, in union with Constantinople, or Greek Catholic, in union with Rome, celebrate Christmas, which here begins on January 7. “Ukrainian Christmas is like something out of Charles Dickens,” says American journalist Joe Lindsley. “They keep Christmas well.”
“I just returned from three months in Ukraine. Not my first time there, and certainly not my last; a powerful experience for me personally, but I must say that JOE’s REPORTING, HIS INSIGHTS, and, OBVIOUSLY, HIS HEART, ARE SPOT-ON.” —Jim, a Telegram follower of Ukrainian Freedom News
