The real reason Putin is trying to destroy Ukraine
Plus: Hungary has announced cooperation with Iran
REAL STORIES IN REAL WAR-TIME: Last Tuesday was another day of terror and uncertainty in Ukraine as Russia launched its largest, most coordinated attack yet on infrastructure in the same week that first snow arrives to many Ukrainian cities. WGN Ukraine Report: Russia Is Fighting the Ukrainian People, not the 'Kyiv Regime'
Why is Russia targeting Ukraine's infrastructure? Because Russia Is Fighting the Ukrainian People, not the 'Kyiv Regime'
Joe Lindsley’s daily report on Chicago’s WGN Radio with Bob Sirott
We often hear influential Americans talk about how “the Kyiv regime” needs to negotiate to bring about peace. This is what Putin wants the West to believe, but it’s not accurate.
Putin knows the truth but if he said it his propaganda would collapse: His target is the people of Ukraine, who refuse to be controlled by him, or anyone. He’s afraid of them ever since 2014.

What Russia still doesn't understand: the cheerful defiance of the Ukrainians, even in cold darkness.

Why is Putin attacking Ukrainian infrastructure? Because, despite his rhetoric, he is fighting the Ukrainian people, not what he and what some in the USA media call the “Kyiv regime.”
Putin wants Ukrainians to freeze. But Ukrainians know how to survive.
Besides, they prefer freedom to electricity.
But when they have power and light, they embrace it.
