WAR STORIES: 'This Sniper Had Us Stuck'
BY FRASER GOOD, Ukrainian Freedom News
British veteran, Ukrainian volunteer
ME AND SEVEN OTHERS pushed forward from the trenches and into this house closer to the Russians and we survived here for one week. This house is forever going to be embedded into my memory as during this week we somehow was lucky enough not to get hit by any artillery whilst it was relentlessly bombing the whole town around us, they fired GRADS at us and still missed and even tried to flank us by setting buildings on fire around us and sneaking up on us at 3 in the morning as well as airstrikes.
We was told that morning to lay down on the floor and just be quiet as fuck as this Russian unit was moving up to us just 40 metres away, all we could do was watch the front door and wait for them to burst through the door and kill us all. We could even hear them moving around and talking outside.
There was a long 900 metre road we could see from our house and down on the left was a yellow triangle house being used by a Russian sniper, and he killed a Ukrainian by shooting him in the neck back in the trench. This sniper had us all stuck for about 2 days as we had no idea where he was, eventually the legend that is Ryan fired his LAW [light anti-tank weapon] at this building and it then set on fire and killed the sniper.
They must of been using this building as a FOB as about 3 or 4 guys came running out to get away from the burning and the team killed them all. There bodies were there for days and no Russians came to collect them.
Me and a guy was on sentry in one of the bedrooms that night and we could hear screaming coming from one of the streets next to us and it became clear that this was a Russian soldier we'd shot that day and he was just slowly dying on his own, the screaming eventually started stopping at around 4ish in the morning.
They threw small arms, artillery, GRADS, airstrikes and even tried to flank us by setting a smoke screen and we still killed them all and walked out of there.

Strange Scene in Kyiv
Scene in #Kyiv tonight: mysterious flash in the sky, moments before the air-alarm sounded. Much speculation but nothing confirmed. Previously Nasa had said a satellite would fall somewhere on this glorious planet tonight. What're the odds it'd be on dear Kyiv?
