Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital
Kyiv is under the control of the Ukrainian Forces, but there is a mood of preparation for a full invasion.
There are fights in Bycha, Gostomel, and Irpin’, outside of the city.
In the suburb of Irpin, the mayor reported that Russian shelling killed an entire family who were trying to evacuate.
Here you can see Russians firing in the streets while citizens tried to evacuate:
“The city [of Kyiv] accumulates all resources for the defense of the capital. For the livelihood of residents in difficult martial law,” says former world champion boxer Vitaliy Klitchko, the mayor of Kyiv.
“Today I drove through some checkpoints set up at the entrances to Kyiv. Our military, terrorist defense - in combat readiness and in a determined mood to repel the enemy. Moral spirit is unbreakable! We said that we would defend Kyiv at any cost.”
Kharkiv, 20 miles from Russia, northeastern Ukraine
Due to the repeated shelling of the TV tower in Kharkiv, the region was temporarily left without TV and radio broadcasting. There are no street fights now, and city in under control of the Ukrainian Forces, though much of it is is in bad shape after a week of Russian assault. Ukrainians began a counterattack yesterday, pushing Russian orcs, as Ukrainians call the invaders, back toward the border.

Odesa, on the Black Sea
The city is calm, a Slovyansk patrol (Ukrainian ship) boat sank in Odesa region due to Russian missile strike, and 1 aircraft was destroyed today near Odesa.
Mariupol, on the Sea of Azov
The city is under the control of Ukrainian troops, but it is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe, while Russian shelling from outside continues. The city is the only territory on the coastline of the Sea of Azov still held by Ukraine.
On Friday, after perhaps the worst day of attacks, the Mariupol mayor said, “Today was the most difficult and cruel day in all 7 days of the war. Today they just wanted to destroy us all.”
In Mariupol, an evacuation corridor was agreed with Russia yesterday, but Russian troops once again violated all agreements. There was also an attempt to attack the outskirts of Mariupol with an attack of 10 tanks. This attack was repulsed, at least 6 Russian tanks were destroyed.
A further plan for opening and implementing "green corridors" and saving Mariupol from a humanitarian catastrophe is currently being worked out under the leadership of President Zelenskiy’s office and the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers.
Chernihiv
The eleventh day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion continues in this northern region.
The Russians, in violation of international humanitarian law, continue to launch missile and bomb strikes on civilian transport infrastructure, shelling, and killing civilians, though Ukrainians have stalled their on the ground advance.
Zaporizhya
The situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, Europe’s larget, is unknown. Russia controls the city of Enerhodar and son ome premises on the territory of the NPP, there are isolated battles. Yesterday we understood that Ukraine again had control of the plant.
World

The United States gave the "green light" to NATO countries for the supply of fighters to Ukraine🇺🇦
Putin told Turkey’s Erdogan that the suspension of the “special operation,” which is what he calls his war against Ukraine, is possible only if Kyiv stops defending itself and fulfills the requirements of Russia.
Zelenskiy: NATO Created a False Narrative
Ukraine’s President Zelenskiy has sharply criticized NATO for refusing to close the skies over Ukraine.
🔸 "We believe that NATO countries themselves have created a narrative that closing the skies over Ukraine will provoke Russia's direct aggression against NATO. This is self-hypnosis of those who are weak, insecure, internally, although they may have weapons many times stronger than ours."
🔸 "All the people who will die from this day will also die because of you! Because of your weakness, because of your disunity. (...) Today the NATO leadership gave the" green light "for further bombing of Ukrainian cities and villages, refusing to "no-fly zone".

Russia Has Been Trying to Break-Up Western Ukraine
"The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) thwarted the Kremlin’s plans for new «people’s republics» in western Ukraine, which has long been considered the heartland of Ukrainian culture.
"According to the Ukrainian special services, the «Federal Republic of Ukraine» was to include the following oblasts: Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ternopil and Chernivtsi.
“The logic of creating pseudo-republics was to shake up the situation in the rear of the Ukrainian military. Namely – in those areas that can not be captured by the regular army of the Russian Federation, the SBU explained."

PODCAST: Putin Fears a Free Ukraine
For background on the Russian effort to break Ukraine into separate Moscow-controlled Republics, you might want to listen to our podcast with Andrew Fink, PhD, who lived in Kyiv six years studying Putin, propaganda, and conspiracy theories.
He believes that the main reason Putin wants to crush Ukraine is the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, which has become an example of successful peaceful resistance to tyranny. Putin’s main mechanism to crush Ukraine, Fink says, is to federalize it with puppet governments under his control.
