DAILY WAR JOURNAL—ON CHICAGO’S WGN RADIO:
War Day 391: While Taking You on a Walk Through Lviv, We Discuss Xi's Visit to Moscow
We must always consider: What is the cost of Chinese “support”?
by JOE LINDSLEY, Ukrainian Freedom News
Beijing has never like modern Ukraine’s freedom, only its resources. As China's Xi meets with Russia's Putin, here's some of the history of Beijing's attitude toward freedom, in Ukraine, Hong Kong, Taiwan and within its own borders. Plus: As we talk, I take you through a walk in Lviv.
Plus:
While the Chinese dictator flies into Moscow, the Japanese Prime Minister makes the great effort to take an overnight train from Poland to Kyiv, because, thanks to Russian missile threats, flights are not possible into Ukraine.
Xi's visit demonstrates that the Russian invasion has gone awry and may be at the precipice of failure.
Beijing refused to condemn Russia for taking Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula in 2014.
The Chinese ambassador to Ukraine in 2019 had the audacity to criticize the protests on the “maidan [main square] of Hong Kong” in Ukrainian media, showing no respect for Ukraine’s Maidan Revolution, something sacred to most Ukrainians.
"Russia must optimize the structure and infrastructure of the Black Sea Fleet and ensure control over the Black Sea and Crimea,” said an official Chinese communist party newspaper in 2020.
Did you know the people of Hong Kong, when they still had the ability to protest before 2020, took to the streets waving Hong Kong, British, American, and Ukrainian flags? This is because Ukraine’s Maidan Revolution, or the Revolution of Dignity, was a blueprint for young Hong Kong activists wanting to hold onto their freedoms, freedoms the Chinese would soon strip away, in violation of Beijing’s handover treaty with the United Kingdom.

NATO believes that the Armed Forces will break through the corridor to Crimea during the counteroffensive
Ukraine can deliver the main blows in the Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions.
The leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) believes that the main goal of the expected offensive of the Ukrainian military will be to break through a corridor into the occupied Crimean peninsula.
German tabloid Bild writes about this with reference to its own sources in the NATO leadership.
The interlocutor of the publication reported that NATO analysts believe that the critical half-year confrontation between Ukraine and Russia is currently ongoing, but as of May, Western weapons will be used to push Russian troops out of the south and east of the country.
"Preparation, materials, logistics and knowledge of secret services, partners are now doing everything to conduct a successful counteroffensive. We are preparing for a spring or summer offensive. The next six months will be a key period," said the representative of the Alliance.
The interlocutor of the journalists said that the Russian invaders "correctly assume" that Ukraine can deliver the main blows in the Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions, and in the southeast the Armed Forces will break through the land corridor to the occupied Crimea.
The NATO leadership refused to comment on the details of the upcoming offensive of the Armed Forces.
"Moscow is currently not ready to increase the number of its aircrews or combat aircraft deployed in Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense is much stronger today than it was at the beginning of the war," he said.
Commenting on the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Crimea, he stated that Ukraine has every right to de-occupy its territories.

Journalist specializing in Asian affairs Ms. Hanna Shen brings us the perspective of Taiwan, which itself lives in the shadow of great, aggressive, and expansive power - the same one that today in Moscow tries to be considered a „missionary of peace”.
