War Day 337: What do you do when there's one hour to missile strike?
An Intense Morning of Russian Terror and Ukrainian Resilience

Here's a play-by-play of this morning, when Russia sent a barrage of missiles throughout the Ukrainian skies.
26 January: My daily Ukraine report on Chicago's WGN Radio with Bob Sirott
Ukrainian air defenders stopped many of them but the few missiles that got through still caused major damage and deaths.
Was this attack a response to the belated Western promise of tanks?
No. It is the same thing Russia has been doing since the beginning, trying to destroy Ukraine. Moscow claims it is escalating only because the Kremlin is afraid of what Ukraine can do with better weapons. Look what Ukraine can do with outdated air-defence!
Something is afoot …

I invoke the maxim of an old mentor the late British journalist Sir Harry Evans: “Things are not what they seem on the surface. Dig deeper, dig deeper, dig deeper.”
This applies to two big Ukraine topics: A few days ago the USA was saying Ukraine couldn't handle the Abrams tanks. Now Washington says they will send these masterful fighting machines, although maybe not for awhile. Why did DC change its mind? Will anyone ask them?
And yesterday, not long after a mysterious helicopter crash killed three senior officials including a close friend of President Zelenskiy, the latter issued an order prohibiting Members of Parliament, the police, and judges from leaving the country—as officials accuse some prominent government people of corruption and taking bribes. Something is afoot.
Is this the next step at finding and stopping pro-Russian rot within Ukraine?
But first, you can listen to people in Lviv singing their January carols. Listen above.
