War Day 567: What Can We Learn from Ukraine's Crimea Incursions?

LVIV—Ukraine is showing that it can hit Russian targets in the Moscow-occupied Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea—two days in a row. Is this part of the counteroffensive, in a way that Western commentators could not imagine? To mark the occasion, we play legendary guitar picker Elizabeth Cotton's version of "Vastopol," a 19th century instrumental about the Crimean War and which served as the foundation for modern American rock.
Also, I share a story from a British volunteer fighter for Ukraine, Aiden Aslan, @cossackgundi, who survived a Russian prison and death sentence: Here's what happened when the Russians forced him to sing their national song. By the way: please Aiden's book, Putin's Prisoner, co-written by the great @johnsweeneyroar, for a harrowing look at life in russian captivity.
