'Heart of Steel': Is Ukrainian an Ethos or an Ethnicity?
Here's "Heart of Steel," Ukraine's submission for this week's Eurovision Song Contest, created by a Ukrainian from Ternopil and a Nigerian immigrant to Ukraine. It's a reminder that Ukraine is not just an ethnicity. It’s an ethos of freedom. And anyone who loves freedom can be in this sense be Ukrainian, especially after the success of the 2014 Revolution of Dignity. .

Patriot Missile Stops Russian Supersonic Weapon. What Were the Russians Hunting For?
Have the Russians been on the hunt for secret targets with their Khinzal missiles? Perhaps they have, but we now have solid reports that the U.S.-made Patriot missile has stopped at least one of these "unstoppable" missiles. And: coronation vs Kremlin: As Britain displayed its majestic democracy, Ukrainians shed blood for the same ideals of freedom and dignity.

You Might Be Surprised by Who is Coming to Help Ukraine
At a volunteer kitchen for frontline soldiers, I felt like I was in a church: This place—with volunteers young and old, male and female, from Ohio, California, Italy, everywhere—was certainly sacred, full of courageous people who bravely crossed the border into a nation at war.
BY JOE LINDSLEY | UKRAINIAN FREEDOM NEWS
LVIV—As friends in Washington sent me text messages warning of “nuclear winter,” I stood in a courtyard where a mix of women and men from all over the free world, ranging from age 20 to perhaps 60, chopped mushrooms, carrots, and beets, the aroma filling the cool air under the grey sky. They were preparing dried, “just add hot water” meals for Ukrainian warriors at the front. They’d all faced personal fears and traveled via train from Poland to this wartime country.
Watching this scene, I was speaking with my friend Richard Woodruff, a British volunteer at the Front Line Kitchen. We were talking of what the Russians might be up to next and I was about to swear, but I silently, subconsciously caught myself. I felt I was in a church.
This place was made sacred by the scene around me. People from all over the world sat or stood at tables cutting the veg: A woman from New Hampshire spoke with a woman from Ohio about her pets. Across from them: a man from California, another from Michigan, and another from Austria. Working at a table of carrots stood a Scottish woman and an Italian, while a Ukrainian woman and a German man dealt with the mushrooms, while the latter was playing Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Long as I Can See the Light” on his speaker.
These were representatives of the whole free world, unafraid to be here, just doing their part, chopping away.
The weekend before, I’d had pints with a Ukrainian friend who had lost his leg in battle, and I’d drunk coffee with another soldier, still healthy, preparing to return to the fight. The prior day, I’d heard that two Canadian fighters I knew were killed in Bakhmut. These are all heroes, but so, I realized, were the people chopping vegetables at the kitchen.
On the face of it, it might not look like the kitchen volunteers are brave heroes. But they are: the soldiers and the vegetable choppers. They faced uncertainty and fear in their hearts as they stand on platform No. 10 in Warsaw, saying goodbye to the free and safe world …
