War Day 334: Estonia Gives All Its Howitzers to Ukraine. Can Bigger Nations Give Just a Few Tanks?
23 January: My daily Ukraine report on Chicago's WGN Radio with Bob Sirott
Reporting from Lviv, I describe the emotions over the weekend: a mixture of hope, joy, tears—and, as always, defiance.
For the first time since February, even President Zelenskiy was pictured crying, at the funeral of a friend, the Minister of the Interior. At a rockabilly concert in Lviv, people danced in the face of rumours of a big new attack this week. Before the last song, the lead singer yelled out, in Ukrainian, "Glory to Jesus Christ!" ... to which the crowd responded, "Glory indeed" before dancing in the face of death.
And little Estonia, which once suffered under Moscow tyranny, shows the world it is possible to increase support for Ukraine in order to stop the Russian menace.
